Statement of Strong Condemnation Regarding the Arbitrary and Repressive Decision to Deport Dr. Adel Al-Shujaa
We strongly condemn the repressive and arbitrary decision taken regarding the deportation of Dr. Adel Al-Shujaa, the Yemeni writer and critic residing in Egypt, to the governorate of Aden. This decision raises growing concerns about his safety and security and represents a blatant violation of human rights and freedom of expression.
Dr. Adel Al-Shujaa is considered one of the prominent voices in Yemeni society, known for his writings and opinions that clearly denounce the ongoing violations of human rights and social injustice. His deportation and the prevention of his expression of views constitute a severe violation of his rights and freedoms and pose a threat to the fundamental principles of human rights.
The escalation of such arbitrary actions represents a serious threat to human rights and freedoms and is a direct challenge to the basic principles of the rule of law and justice. The international community and human rights organizations must stand in solidarity with Dr. Adel Al-Shujaa and demand justice and respect for human rights globally.
We stress the importance of halting these arbitrary actions and working to promote human rights and freedoms at all times and in all places. Protecting human rights and defending freedom of expression are foundational principles for building a just and diverse society. We call for the respect of these values and principles worldwide.
